Early childhood education
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Research and Scholarship Group supports both formal and informal links and dialogue between academics, research staff and postgraduate students with research and scholarly interests in the broad area of early childhood education.
Membership draws from across the University, recognising the importance of interdisciplinary links in the field of early childhood. And the focus is on ECE in the UK, as well as internationally. The terms 'early childhood' is defined differently within different counties but would at its broadest encompass the age group from birth to seven years.
The group aims to stimulate and offer mutual support for the research and scholarly activity of group members through a range of activities, including for example
- regular internal seminars
- writing activities which could include being a 'critical friend' to new researchers and writers
- mentorship for researchers, writers and publication
- the dissemination of information on resources for research and scholarship
