Education policy research
Sheffield Hallam University has a very well established reputation for high quality, independent, applied and policy related research which informs central and local government and government agencies. The results of many of these projects have contributed significantly to policy debate and development, in particular those related to the Government's agenda with respect to social inclusion.
Key areas are
- parents, schools and educational markets research
- education leadership and management research
- the professional development of teachers and other education professionals
- higher education policy research
- policymaking in educational settings
A number of new themes are beginning to become established as a result of changes within external professional contexts and the emergence of new theoretical and applied problems. These are reflected in the interests of the Education Policy Research and Scholarship Group currently convened by Dr Colin McCaig.
