Language and literacy education research

The Language and Literacy Research and Scholarship Group, which is a sub-group of the Education Research Network, has a particular focus on the changing nature of literacy, and the implications of this for the curriculum and professional training and development.

Key areas of recent work include

  • academic literacies
  • digital literacies
  • literacy and identity
  • multimodal analysis of children's interactions
  • socio-cultural studies of literacy practices
