Roberta is the English route leader on the BA (Hons) English and Education Studies. Her research interests focus on children's communication in educational settings, multimodal analyses of interactions and linguistic ethnography. She is a member of the University's Language and Literacy Research Group and a member of the United Kingdom Literacy Association. She is working towards completion of her doctorate in 2009.
She has presented a report of her research at the UK Literacy Association International Conference in 2007 and to the Sheffield Hallam University Centre for Education and Inclusion education research seminar series in September 2007. The research formed the basis for a continuing professional development session on multimodality in interaction at the English Language Teaching Centre, University of Sheffield in 2006.
