Katarzyna Machaczek is a research fellow in the Centre for Health and Social Care Research. She gained her BSc and MSc in Public Health.

Research Interest:

Katarzyna's research interest include:

  • Patient Safety, in particular communication between doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Human factors for patient safety.

Prevention of depression and other mental health problems.

2010/2011 Principal Investigator - Improving the long-term persistence of effects of interventions aimed at encouraging the routine practice of physical activity among individuals in the pre-clinical stage of anxiety and depression. 2011 Principal Investigator - Identify gaps in nurses' professional competencies for conducting patient handover and to address their competency gaps through providing nurses with an innovative VET programme and guidebook on how to conduct handover safely and effectively.
