Nick brings experience in research, sales and technology transfer, which allows him to easily identify how MERI's research knowledge and expertise can be used to provide solutions to commercial problems.
During his time at MERI, Nick has played a key role in developing the Institute's research portfolio, and in winning funding from the regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward to create the Materials Analysis and Research Services Centre for Industrial Collaboration (MARSCIC).
Nick's current projects include Innovation Futures, a Yorkshire Forward funded initiative that works with SMEs in Yorkshire and Humberside to help them innovate and develop their services, products and processes.
In addition, Nick is involved in the Advanced Engineering and Materials (AEM) Innovation Hub. Also funded by Yorkshire Forward, the network provides a framework for businesses, small and large, to identify up-and-coming opportunities and to form collaborative R&D consortia to develop relevant and timely, technology based solutions.
