Research interests
Theory of semiconductor materials and optics and scientific software development.
Research projects
Quantum Cascade: The project involves development of software tools to design and simulate the behaviour of quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) working in terahertz and mid-infrared frequencies.
Technical expertise
Semiconductor optics, excitonic effects, high order many-body effects, nonequilibrium Greens functions including T-matrix, efficient numerical methods, software engineering.
Personal profile
Tim was born in Hamburg, Germany, where he received his diploma in physics in 1995. He received a doctorate in physics from the University of Rostock (Germany) in 2001 and worked there as a research associate until he joined MERI in 2007.
