You can exploit the advanced and broad range of expertise that our academic staff holds through consultancy. We have helped over 200 companies from large organisations to micro SME's with a problem which they have come to us with. Consultancy directly progresses your business at your point of need.

Funding Opportunities

We have helped many companies gain extra funding from government grant schemes. Our most popular scheme is the Transfer Knowledge Partnership (KTP) detailed in the table below. KTP's offer businesses extra funding to help  research and development in their business to keep up with the current economic climate and stay competitive. There are many research grants available which we can help you navigate your way through, details can be found below.

FP7 Seventh Framework Programme (FP7)
The FP7 programme bundles all research-related EU initiatives together under a common roof playing a crucial role in reaching the goals of grwoth, competiveness and employment. The objectives of this programme have been grouped into four categories - Cooperation, Ideas, People and Capacities.Find Out More
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP)
We can give you and your organisation the structure and support you need to tackle a specific business challenge. All KTP's are partly funded by the government. We work with you to recruit a high calibre graduate (KTP associate) who will run a specific project at your organisation. Find Out More
TSB: Feasibility Studies TSB: Feasibility Studies
The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) is to invest up to £2m in feasibility studies to stimulate innovation by small and micro businesses in a broad range of manufacturing competencies. The competition encourages small companies to innovate in a number of different areas. We can help with the application process and after successful application. Find Out More
TSB: SMART TSB: SMART Grant
SMART is another grant available from the TSB offering funding to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME's) to engage in R&D projects in the strategically important areas of science. The grant is split into three categories: proof of market, proof of concept, development of prototype.

Professional Development

We are committed to furthering the skills of our academic staff as well as being fully commited to teaching the local community. You can further your professional development through the high-class teaching at the university. We offer Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses which are available to anybody interested in continuing their professional development with us.
