Welcome to the Psychology Research Group
The
Psychology Research Group at Sheffield Hallam University consists
of around 35 academic and practitioner psychologists with a wide range
of expertise. We are all lecturers who research as well as teach. This
ensures that our students benefit from our enthusiasm for research and
our teaching is current and informed by our research expertise.
The results of the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise have confirmed that the research undertaken by psychologists at Sheffield Hallam University is of good quality. 10 per cent of the University's submission in the psychology unit of assessment (UoA 44) was internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour, with 35 per cent internationally recognised and 55 per cent nationally recognised.
Since 2008 we have worked to support research in the psychology research group though short periods of release from teaching, small research grants, and research training and mentoring.
Within the Psychology Research Group we have a number of subject-specific research interest groups
- Health Psychology Research Group
- Language and Speech Research Group
- Brain, Behaviour and Cognition Research Group
We also host research seminar series for the Psychology Research Group and the Health Psychology Research Group. See our events page for further details.
