Volunteers in sport
The first national studies to authoritatively identify the scale and value of volunteering in sport were produced by staff from SIRC and partner institutions. Two national studies of volunteering in sport have now been produced for the UK in 1996 (commissioned by The Sports Council) and for England in 2003 (commissioned by Sport England).
These studies also investigated the problems faced by volunteers in sport and possible management solutions to these problems.
