SIRC research and consultancy services
Our research activity is divided into these core themes
- performance management
- major events
- elite sport
- volunteers in sport
- economics of sport and recreation
- sports participation
In addition to our five key areas of work, SIRC has the flexibility to take on other work including market research and other bespoke commissions, which are consistent with our strengths and key competencies. Recently these have included using cutting edge developments in qualitative research. Professor Tim Crabbe has led long term projects evaluating the effectiveness of the Home Office's Positive Future's interventions.
We work with TNSSPORT, part of the Taylor Nelson Sofres group, to undertake sponsor recall surveys at sports events such as
- British Superbikes
- Guinness Premiership Final
- A1 Grand Prix events
SIRC has a team of researchers who are trained to Market Research Society standards to conduct fieldwork for our clients. SIRC have recently invested in high volume scanning equipments and software which can process questionnaires at a much faster rate than manual data input. We also have expertise in online surveying.
For an informal discussion about your potential research needs in sport and leisure, please contact one of our three directors - Professor Chris Gratton, Professor Peter Taylor and Simon Shibli.
