Food and nutrition
We work with industry, business and the professions to deliver what’s wanted in the workplace. Building on our expertise, we improve and develop our courses working with large and small organisations situated locally, nationally and internationally such as Sainsbury’s, Haribo, Walt Disney, Tesco, Unilever, Kraft, Marks & Spencer, the NHS, local authorities and the Department of Health.
Research means that staff working at the edge of new knowledge can feed their expertise back into our courses. We also provide a range of industrial standard equipment and the opportunity to use innovative computer software packages to process and analyse data for use in research, either for specific modules or for your final year project.
An essential part of your degree will be connections with industry. Many specialists visit and talk to students about their experiences including visitors from the World Cancer Research Fund, community food workers, 5-A-Day co-ordinators and nutritionists from industry and retailers such as Sainsbury’s and overseas workers developing health initiatives in Africa.
