Professional bodies
Languages staff belong to a range of professional bodies including the Association for Language Learning (ALL), Higher Education Academy (HEA), Standing Conference of Heads of Modern Languages in Universities (SCHML), and the Association for Sandwich Education and Training (ASET). Some staff are executive members of these associations.
Organisations
The languages subject group has long-standing links with high-profile placement companies including Ernst & Young, Iberia and Siemens.
Clients
The languages team at Sheffield Hallam University have worked with a variety of clients. Recent work includes the Knowledge Exchange Project, a dual-purpose venture to research the use of digital language labs by secondary schools and pilot the Lounge 100 software to enable distance learning and teaching.
We have also recently produced a distance learning Italian course using Lounge 100 software.
