Challenges for Knowledge Transfer - A Time of Change
Sheffield Business School recently hosted a one day event aimed at addressing the challenges being encountered by knowledge transfer and innovation professionals.
Universities and industry across the UK and wider Europe face some of the most severe challenges for a decade, encountering financial stringency, spending cuts, and problems achieving growth. Companies are looking for new and innovative solutions to their problems, which could be achieved through the exchange of knowledge with universities. The event considered many different ways in which this is currently being achieved and further challenges for the future.
The conference was opened by Sir Brian Fender, President of the Institute of Knowledge Transfer (IKT), and Professor Mike Smith, Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer at Sheffield Hallam University. The keynote address was provided by David Coates, Technology Strategy Board, who spoke about 'Sharing Knowledge to Mutual Benefit'.
The conference was organised by the KES International / IKT and hosted by Sheffield Business School.
