Why work with us?
The international focus of the centre reflects the global nature of our industries and can be seen in the centre's activities. However, whilst we think and act globally this is complemented by us also thinking and acting locally. We
- routinely undertake research and consultancy upon issues of international importance. This work is often done in collaboration with, or for, hospitality, tourism and events businesses or other organisations.
- publish in international research and academic journals and attend international conferences
- have secured a variety of contracts and now have an income stream of circa £400,000 per annum from regional, national and international activities
- have an international orientation and reputation, and have a worldwide network of contacts and affiliations with other educational establishments, companies and government agencies
- manage and run eat Sheffield (the restaurant association for the Sheffield area), the Visitor Economy Research Unit, the Events Management HUB and the Wine Studies Unit
