Research interests

The significance of destination branding on the business events industry in Singapore was the subject of a Stewart's masters' research project. This is being used as a springboard for further research

  • the use of events to re-position the Singapore brand, a study that will focus on the importance of special and hallmark sporting events (the new night time Singapore F1 Grand Prix and the first Youth Olympics that will be held in Singapore in August 2010)
  • applying a similar research focus and approach at regional and city level within the UK, in particular with 'local' extensions based on Yorkshire Forward/Yorkshire Events
