Ian has 20 years experience of management in the arts and cultural sector. He has experience of management of theatres, arts centres, galleries and museums. He has worked on over 1000 professional performances and exhibitions.
He has an MBA from Sheffield University Management School. His MBA dissertation was a marketing consultancy research project for Magna Science Adventure Centre. He also has an MA in Theatre and Film from Sheffield University. Whilst studying for his MA he was winner of the William Empson prize for student drama. His MA dissertation was an exploration of the creation of meaning for theatre audiences. Ian's first degree was a BA (Hons) History of Design and the Visual Arts and his specialist subject area was film studies.
Ian is currently working on a DBA doctoral thesis on arts and cultural event management.
