Profile
Michel recently joined the Sheffield Business School at Sheffield Hallam University as senior lecturer in hospitality management. He is now involved in the Masters as well as the Bachelors Hospitality programme, fulfilling various academic roles. He will be teaching marketing and offer workshops focusing on quality management to the Master students.
Before moving to academia, Michel has been working several years in the hospitality industry. After completing his internship with Sheraton in Mexico, he moved to Belgium and worked as banqueting and conference manager and sales manager in Brussels.
Michel has complemented his work experience in the hospitality industry with the following qualifications:
- PhD at Sheffield Hallam University (based on research into food services in healthcare - this involved a case study of Compass Group and the NHS)
- MA in Social Science Research
- MBA in Hospitality Management (IMHI)
- BSc in Hospitality Management (Glion Hotel School)
Michel's research interests cover food services, relationship marketing and global marketing.
