John recently joined Sheffield Hallam University as head of food innovation, to help build new and innovative collaborations between the University and industry.
John has a first degree in biochemistry and a Masters in food technology, allied to some 15 years experience in chilled food manufacture for both large corporations and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
Prior to joining the University, John was the food and drink sector manager at Yorkshire Forward where he pioneered the regional food and drink strategy and secured a multimillion investment programme to deliver the strategy. John lives in Sheffield and is keen to be involved in taking this work forward in his home town.
