Profile
Amanda joined CIOD in May 2009 working on the Innovation Futures project. The £3.2 million Yorkshire Forward and ERDF funded project plans to boost the potential of businesses with the Yorkshire and Humber region through innovation.
The project aims to provide consultancy and research and development assistance to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), working with them to facilitate change and provide effective solutions tailored to their business requirements across a range of areas. These include materials and engineering, sports engineering, design solutions, food innovation and individual and organisational development.
Amanda joined Sheffield Hallam University in August 2006 working in the research and business development team in Sheffield Business School, where she was involved in business development, project management and budget management for clients including Tesco and Fletchers Bakeries. She also provided support to Knowledge Transfer Partnerships as well as co-ordinating the 2008 RAE submission for the faculty.
Prior to joining Sheffield Hallam University in August 2006, Amanda gained eight years experience as a human resources manager in the food manufacturing industry, working for Northern Foods and Cadbury Trebor Bassett. Her generalist roles have involved recruitment and resourcing, industrial relations, training and development and rewards.
Amanda successfully completed a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and Training at Sheffield Hallam University in June 2006 and has completed Stage 2 of her CIPD.
