Profile
Professor of operational research and strategy sciences at Sheffield Hallam University since 1989. Also honorary professor at Warwick Business School. Chair of the Conflict Research Society.
Following postgraduate training and market simulation research in operational research (OR) at Lancaster University employed in manufacturing industry with work on production management and financial modelling. A decade of work spanning the range of formal problem structuring methods led into development of the 'drama theory' framework for understanding human interaction. This approach proved extraordinarily versatile and is used to gaining insight and guide action on organisational and inter-organisational issues.
