Learning centres
The University has invested millions of pounds in its Learning Centres, which bring together library services, computing and multimedia facilities. As well as books, periodicals and other printed material, we provide access to hundreds of databases and specially produced key internet resources.
Computing facilities
There are thousands of computers available on campus. Rooms containing PCs or specialist workstations are used for learning and teaching and can also be used by individuals students at other times. All are connected to the campus-wide network and provide access to over 250 software packages, including Microsoft Office, email and the internet.
Research and services to business
Great investment has been made in equipment, technology and our campuses themselves to facilitate high quality research and consultancy at the University. We host many research centres and institutes, crossing a variety of disciplines, and provide support to groups and individual students conducting research on a vast range of themes. In addition, we provide comprehensive and invaluable services to business, including consultancy, training, testing, advice and directly commissioned research.

Covering all aspects of university life, we provide comprehensive facilities for
staff and students, with some even open to the general public. Advice and guidance
is available in many areas including the Student
