Our disabled student support service can

  • offer advice and guidance to pre-entry university applicants and current students about the support available, including informal meetings and guidance appointments
  • provide information and support for students with specific disabilities
  • provide specialist induction events at the beginning of each academic year
  • offer support with applications for Disabled Students' Allowances and carry out Needs Assessments at the Sheffield Regional Assessment centre
  • offer individual packages of support for each student according to their disability
  • offer psychological assessments and support for students with dyslexia, dyspraxia and specific learning difficulties (SpLD)
  • provide an online support worker booking system
  • assist in the organisation of specific exam, teaching and learning requirements
  • provide information and training on IT and Assistive technology for disabled students
