Disabled student support
Our disabled student support service can
- offer advice and guidance to pre-entry university applicants and current students about the support available, including informal meetings and guidance appointments
- provide information and support for students with specific disabilities
- provide specialist induction events at the beginning of each academic year
- offer support with applications for Disabled Students' Allowances and carry out Needs Assessments at the Sheffield Regional Assessment centre
- offer individual packages of support for each student according to their disability
- offer psychological assessments and support for students with dyslexia, dyspraxia and specific learning difficulties (SpLD)
- provide an online support worker booking system
- assist in the organisation of specific exam, teaching and learning requirements
- provide information and training on IT and Assistive technology for disabled students
