Sheffield Regional Assessment Centre (SRAC)
Who we are
We undertake needs assessments for people with disabilities and specific learning difficulties in higher education. These assessments are funded through the Disabled Students Allowances (DSA). We are on the list of registered assessment centres of the DSA Quality Assurance Group. We are also members of the National Network of Assessment Centres.
Where can you find us?
We are based within the Student Services at City Campus. Situated approximately 100 metres from the train and bus stations, we are easily accessible from the main Owen Building entrance to the University. Just follow the signs to the Student and Learning Services reception. For more information, visit our how to find us pages.
Booking your appointment
Regardless of where you live, where you are studying, or where you intend to study, you can have an appointment with us.
Simply contact us once you have received your approval letter from your funding body, and we will book you an appointment. We aim to see all students within 15 working days. However there are certain times of year when there may be exceptions to this timescale.
It would be helpful if you could complete our pre-assessment form as we will need this information in order to carry out your needs assessment. We will also need a copy of your DSA funding approval letter and a copy of your medical evidence. You should send these to us as soon as possible in order to avoid your appointment being cancelled.
Please visit the accessibility page for guidance on customising your view of our website.
