So much to do in the great outdoors
Being so close to the Peak District National Park is a draw for those who love to spend time in the fresh air. But it's not just the National Park which provides opportunities to escape city life. The area close to Sheffield is packed with stately homes and country parks.
To the west of Sheffield the Peak District provides rugged outdoor scenery, to the east and north the towns of Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster are equally rich in countryside.
The vast expanses of Wentworth Castle and Gardens in Barnsley and Thrybergh Country Park in Rotherham are both perfect for a day out of walking and exploring.
Barnsley has the vast grounds of Cannon Hall Museum, Park and Gardens and Doncaster is the home of Brodsworth Hall and Gardens and Conisbrough Castle. A little bit further away is Clumber Park near Worksop.
