The elegant City Hall is Sheffield’s most prestigious venue
Standing proud in Barker's Pool, one of Sheffield's central squares, is Sheffield City Hall. The striking Grade II listed venue underwent a major refurbishment in 2006 and has since gained two awards for its elegant architecture.
This characterful venue comprises three main halls, the largest being the Oval Hall auditorium which seats 2,271 on three tiered levels.
The City Hall hosts over 400 events a year, supplying the city with an abundance of music genres from rock and pop to folk music. It also holds the memory of hosting The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix amongst other world famous artists.
In addition to its great music acts, the City Hall is home to The Last Laugh Comedy Club, one of Yorkshire's most established comedy nights hosted by Toby Foster, best known as Les from Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and presenter of BBC Radio Sheffield's Breakfast Show.
It's also the venue for the University's graduation ceremonies every November.
