SHU Racing
Sheffield Hallam University is proud to be one of only 22 UK Universities that has a Formula Student team. SHU Racing is a team which has operated for nearly 10 years and has taken 6 cars to the Formula Student event.
All Sheffield Hallam students are invited to join the team. If you feel that you have the enthusi
asm and dedication to work on an exciting motorsport project from start to finish, then you could make an ideal member of the Formula Student team.
You will have the opportunity to apply the theory you've learnt in the classroom directly to an industrial based project. You will gain and enhance existing skills that employers seek such as
- team work
- motivation
- budget management
- project management
- working to deadlines
The competition will allow you the opportunity to better understand the pressures and constraints you will face in a 'real' work environment. Throughout this vehicle pilot build programme you will design, build and test the car with a view to competing in the internationally recognised Formula Student event at Silverstone.
SHU Racing and the Formula Student project is a popular choice for many of our students as a final year project. It also forms an integral part of the BSc (Honours) Automotive Design Technology course offered in the area of Engineering and Technology at Sheffield Hallam University.
