Sociology and social policy at Sheffield Hallam University has an excellent quality rating from the Quality Assurance Agency, 22 out of 24.

As a sociology or politics student, you will benefit from our high quality staff research and publications. We have links to Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) supported by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), and also to Higher Education Academy projects.

The University has been awarded two CETL projects, funded by HEFCE. Our subjects are centrally involved in these innovative developments

Our subjects focus on contemporary national, European and international issues and draw upon collaborative agreements with international partners. You can also benefit from our constantly growing international links. There are opportunities for study and fieldwork abroad, and you can advantage from our developing learning and teaching links with international universities.
