Rachael's story
One of the ways Sheffield Hallam gets its students in contact with big names from the sports industry is by running an annual sports industry conference.
This January, the conference was the first major sports industry conference of the Olympic year. It was attended by over 500 of our sports students and a host of key figures from across the sports industry.
One star of the show was recent Sheffield Hallam sports graduate Rachel Latham, who closed the conference by interviewing Baroness Campbell, Chair of UK Sport, about the legacy London 2012 will leave for sport in the UK.
Rachael is a former Paralympian swimmer and World Championship bronze medallist, who presented Channel 4’s coverage of the London Paralympics over the summer.
The conference was our sixth annual Physical Education, Sport Development and Coaching student conference. It’s delivered in partnership with the industry and offers students a unique opportunity to learn from, meet, and network with industry professionals.
