Competition timetable and events programme

By entering the Enterprise Challenge, you get access to a huge range of workshops and sessions to give you the business skills to help you progress through the competition – and beyond.

You need to attend these sessions to stay in the competition. If you enter as a team every member must attend. Here are the dates for your diary

Event descriptions

You need to attend these sessions to stay in the competition. If you enter as a team every member must attend.

Meet the Hatchery Team (you must attend one of these four sessions) 
This is your chance to come and meet the competition organisers, meet other entrants and collect your additional information. You can also ask any questions you may have.

Half-day Introduction to Business workshop (you must attend one of these four sessions)
This half-day session gives you and your team members the chance to learn the basics of starting your own business, including advice from specialists in business, HM Revenue and Customs, law and marketing.

Workshop – Presentation and Pitching
Faye Smith of Keep Your Fork gives you individual guidance on how to present yourself to clients and how to make your business attractive to others.

Workshop – Writing a Business Plan workshop
As your idea progresses towards a business, people are going to want to see it written down in black and white. This session will guide you through what people expect to see in a business plan – and what they don't!

Workshop - Marketing
Find out on how to incorporate market research into your business plan.

Writing a cash flow forecast
Find out on how to write a cash flow forecast to incorporate into your business plan.

One-to-one presentation practice
f you're a finalist, prepare for your presentation to the practice and final judging panel with one-to-one training on how to give a good presentation.

One-to-one pitching practice
If you're a finalist you'll be giving a minute-long pitch to the audience at the Enterprise and Innovation Dinner. This is a chance to perfect your pitch.
