Enterprise Challenge 2010
Grow your ideas and you could win up to £5,000 to start your own business!
The Enterprise Challenge is Sheffield Hallam University's annual competition guiding budding entrepreneurs through the process of starting a business. Prizes are awarded for businesses with the most potential and you could win up to £5,000 in cash to help get you going, as well as free advice and support.
The competition is open to current Sheffield Hallam students or graduates of the University from the last five years.
What do I need to do?
Entry for Enterprise Challenge 2010 is now closed. Entry for next year's competition will start on

What help will I get?
The Enterprise Challenge is the ultimate business challenge and we will support you all the way with
- expert advice from professionals as part of our events programme
- one-to-one advice from our specialist business, accountancy and intellectual property advisors
- facilities such as hot-desks, internet access and telephone calls through our business incubator, The Hatchery®*
- the chance to be matched with a mentor for support and guidance*
- access to funding for activities such as market research or developing a prototype*
- the opportunity to join our residential entrepreneurs boot camp**

What can I win?
Enterprise Challenge is sponsored by a number of regional, national and international organisations that kindly provide our entrants with a range of tempting competition prizes. Both cash and in-kind support are on offer for Enterprise Challenge 2010, and our first prize winner will receive £5,000 in cash and additional in-kind support from a range of expert organisations.
In Enterprise Challenge 2009 we gave away cash prizes totalling £9,500, as well as a substantial amount of expert business advice, office support and free business mentoring to our winning teams. Entries will be judged at each stage by a panel drawn from the regional business community - judges in previous years have represented a variety of industries including the financial, media, education and legal sectors.
