Mechanical engineering is the classic subject that is often specified by sponsoring companies; it is one of the most popular subjects and provides many opportunities across industry from transport, communications, raw materials and power supply to aerospace, mechanical equipment and pollution control.

Employment opportunities are available for participation in mechanical design, systems design, equipment development, manufacturing, CAD/CAM, project engineering, production management, applied research and sales and service.

Units of Study
You will study three units which build on your Advanced Diploma studies:

• Engineering Product Design
• Computer Aided Engineering
• Concurrent Engineering for Product Design and Manufacture

Assessment
Every unit is assessed by both coursework (20%) and examination (80%). You must achieve an overall mark of 40% to pass a unit. The programme you will undertake here at Sheffield comprises 60 credits of work at UK degree level 6.

Entry Requirements
This course is only available for students who have completed their Advanced Diploma at TAR College in Malaysia after 1999.
