University vision statement and corporate plan

Vision statement

Sheffield Hallam is an innovative and responsive university committed to the belief that high-quality inspirational teaching and applied research can transform individuals, organisations and communities.

Our Corporate Plan 2008–2013 sought to identify clear priorities in relation to the student experience, the development of the Academic Portfolio, our research base and the efficiency of our operations. The plan was refreshed in 2011 so that we could achieve greater focus in our priorities and set out a clear statement of our ambition. It also allowed us to reflect on changes in the external environment. You can download the refreshed corporate plan below.

Our vision for 2015 is to be an established top 50 university, known for the quality of our teaching and learning, with a particular commitment to education for employment. Our research strength will be concentrated in specific subject areas, but will be world-class. By 2015, we will be known for the quality and range of our partnerships with the professions, business, industry and government. This vision will be achieved by working towards the aims and objectives set out below and within the corporate plan.
