Clive Macdonald
Director of Student and Learning Services
Clive Macdonald led the development of the Student and Learning Services (SLS) Directorate at Sheffield Hallam University which was launched successfully in March 2009. Clive is now Director of SLS which provides integrated leadership to a comprehensive range of corporate services critical to the student experience at Sheffield Hallam University. The corporate responsibilities within the Directorate include recruitment and admissions, school and college partnerships, widening participation, learning and teaching development, quality enhancement and academic standards, learning centres, information systems and technology, student services and the international office.
Clive previously held the posts of Director of Student and Academic Services (2005 -2009) and Director of Student Services (2000 - 2005) at SHU. From 2007 he was also Interim Director of Learning and IT Services until its integration with Student and Academic Services in 2009 to create SLS.
Prior to taking up these roles at Sheffield Hallam University Clive was Director of the Open College Network (South Yorkshire and Humber region) and held a number of posts in the further education sector with a wide range of roles and responsibilities.
Clive is also a governor of Northern College and a trustee of Wentworth Castle Heritage trust.
