Phill Dixon
Director of Human Resources
Phill Dixon joined the University in August 2002 and was appointed to the post of Director of Human Resources in 2009.
Phill joined the University from Portakabin Limited, where he held the position of human resources (HR) manager and was responsible for the provision of the HR service for continental Europe and international. Prior to joining Portakabin he worked for Yorkshire Electricity where, as a sponsored student, he gained a business studies degree from Nottingham Trent.
Phill is proud to be part of a HR team that were recognised for 'excellence in the public and not for profit sector' in 2006 at the national HR Excellence Awards.
Phill takes a keen interest in the HR agenda within the sector and has been elected to the role of deputy chair of the North Eastern Region HR Group, the regional forum for university HR directors.
Outside the University, Phill is interested in the Sheffield City region and people issues. He is also a trustee of the St Lukes Hospice in Sheffield, a charitable trust that provides care for the terminally ill.
