Developing international partnerships and growing research income
By 1981–2, the Polytechnic had established exchange or research links with 28 institutions in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the USA, Singapore, Nigeria, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India, and in 1982–3 research and consultancy income topped £1 million for the first time. Later in the decade, these figures increased to 66 institutions and £3.3 million respectively.
