Given powers by the CNAA to validate degree courses
Sheffield was now the second largest polytechnic in the country, and one of the most popular among applicants with a reputation for quality courses and a first-class graduate employment record. So it was no surprise when we became one of the first polytechnics to be given delegated powers by the Council for National Academic Awards (CNAA) to validate degree courses.
