Recycling in the University

Sheffield Hallam University is committed to reducing waste from its activities and increasing the materials that can be recycled. All staff and students are encouraged to recycle in their home or residence where facilities exist.

Recycling sites in Sheffield

You can recycle various materials at recycling sites from glass bottles and jars to textiles and plastics. There are more than 200 recycling sites in Sheffield, located in supermarket car parks, leisure centres and pub car parks etc. Find your nearest site on the Veolia Environmental Services website.

Sheffield City Council

Sheffield City Council works together with Veolia Environmental Services to provide household waste services in Sheffield. Services provided include bins for recyclable and non-recyclable waste, garden waste collection, Recycling Centres, bulky items collection and an Energy Recovery Facility which turns waste into heat and electricity.
