How to apply to Sheffield Hallam if you are from outside the UK
The application process varies depending on your study level.
International Foundation Programme
To apply for our International Foundation Programme in Art, Design and Media, Business, Law and Social Sciences or Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), please complete the application form and submit to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The application form (PDF, 5.9MB) includes a checklist of the information and supporting documents that you need to provide.
On the application form, please specify which undergraduate degree you would like to progress to from the International Foundation Programme. You do not need to complete a separate application form for your chosen undergraduate degree.
International students (including EU)
To apply for an undergraduate course, we recommend that you apply directly to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).

For a clear text or large print application form call +44 (0)114 225 5555.
Please be aware of the application deadlines for our courses starting in September 2021.
- Applications from China and South-East Asia – 30 August 2021
- All other international applications – 2 July 2021
These deadlines apply to all postgraduate full-time courses with the exception of:
- MSc International Business Management
- MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management (with work placement)
- MSc Big Data Analytics
- MSc Accounting and Finance
- Global MBA (all routes)
The above deadlines are due to high volumes of overseas applications and have been set to ensure all applicants are able to receive their CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies), process their visas and plan travel arrangements.
The later deadline for applicants from China and South-East Asia is due to the availability of priority visa services which reduces visa processing times
Once you have decided in which area you would like to perform research, we encourage you to have an informal discussion with staff in the relevant research centre. We recommend that you have a clear, detailed research proposal ready beforehand.
You are asked to provide full details of your academic and work background and most applications require the names of two academic referees.
When considering an application the University must ensure the research proposal is appropriate, the applicant is suitably qualified and adequate supervision and facilities are available.
After enrolling, you must submit a formal research proposal within three months to the University's Research Degrees Sub-Committee for approval.
There is no formal deadline – we consider applications throughout the year.
