In modern marketing, versatile skills are essential. Marketers must be sensitive to customers, and understand the importance of brand perception. On this course, you’ll develop your understanding of branding and consumer behaviour and its usefulness for marketing management. Upon graduating, you’ll have a distinctive skillset — perfect for entering a range of rewarding positions.

How you learn

This course has modules in both consumer behaviour and branding, which work to complement one another. It draws upon psychology, branding, consumer culture studies and management — examining the consumer both as an individual, and within certain groups.

A variety of learning and teaching methods will be used to facilitate the development of knowledge, understanding and skills. The approaches taken vary between modules as appropriate for the subject material and the required learning outcomes.

Entry requirements

All students

Minimum 2.2 in any degree

Students whose first language is not English will need to demonstrate the entry requirements of the course to which they apply as well as meet the English competence requirements of an overall IELTS score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four skills); or equivalent.

Fees and funding

Home students

Our tuition fee for UK students starting full-time study in 2021/22 is £9,340 for the course. There is a £1,000 Postgraduate Taught Scholarship available for Sheffield Hallam University Alumni.

† If you are studying an undergraduate course, postgraduate pre-registration course or postgraduate research course over more than one academic year then your tuition fees may increase in subsequent years in line with Government regulations or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) published fees. Our tuition fee for International/EU students starting full-time study in 2021/22 is £14,460 for the course.
