GLP Regional Global Learning Conference

Date: Friday 16 March 2018
Time: 09.00 AM to 03.30 PM
Venue: The Cantor Building (opening keynote: room 9006), Sheffield Hallam University, 153 Arundel Street, Sheffield S1 2NU

Following four years of successful global learning activity across a range of schools in Yorkshire and Derbyshire, the Global Learning Programme (GLP), Sheffield Institute of Education and Tankersley St Peters School are delighted to invite you to this special event.

Taking place on Friday 16 March 2018 at Sheffield Hallam University, registration will commence at 9:00 am for a 9:30 am start. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The session will finish at 3:30 pm, with an opportunity to stay and network until 4:00 pm.

This free event provides an opportunity for you to hear from teachers who have embedded global learning successfully across their curriculum about the positive impact that it has had on their staff and pupils. The day will be a mixture of practical workshops and an inspirational speaker,
London Headteacher, Naheeda Maharasingam, who will be exploring how to move beyond a charity approach.

The funding for CPD,* curriculum guidance and resources provided by the GLP to support teaching are already used by thousands of schools across the country. Find out why so many schools value global learning as part of their teaching.

Simply complete this form to book your free place. Places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and priority will be given to state-funded* schools in England. Free registration to the GLP is required to secure a place on the event. This will be activated on your completion of
the event booking form if you are not already registered.

*The GLP is funded by the UK government. All schools can join the programme, but funding is only available to Key Stages 2 and 3 in state schools in England. The GLP in England (GLP-E) is managed by a consortium of partners: Pearson (lead), Geographical Association, UCL Institute of Education, Oxfam UK, Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), SSAT and Think Global.
