Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope

Date: Thursday 14 December 2017
Time: 06.00 PM to 08.30 PM
Venue: Lecturer Theatre, Sheffield Institute of Education, Charles Street Building

This one hour documentary film explores how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) can shape a child's physical and mental health.

Important for anyone who works directly with children and wants to find out more about toxic stress and its relationship to ACE, it highlights trauma-informed policies and practices which have been developed in the USA and uses cutting edge research to explore the impact.

Following the film a panel of local experts will share their views and experiences of working with children who have had ACEs . Sally Pease, the 0-5 Years Head of Area, will facilitate a discussion between the panel and the audience.
