Women in Property Student Awards

Wednesday 23 July 2014

Having secured first place in 2012, and a special commendation in 2013, our BSc (Hons) Real Estate students' run of success in the Yorkshire and North East division of the Women in Property Student Awards continued in July 2014 with Georgia Pirbhai picking up the 2014 Women In Property student award.

The Association of Women in Property is a national organisation aiming to promote increased female achievement within the built environment professions. Georgia is a second year student studying on the BSc (Hons) Real Estate course.

Luke Bennett, course leader for the BSc (Hons) Real Estate course, said: 'Georgia won out against a strong field of contestants, which included architecture, civil engineering, planning and surveying students from the Universities of Leeds, Newcastle, Northumbria, Huddersfield and Leeds Met.'

Georgia added: 'Participating in this award has massively improved my confidence and has made me realise that I can aspire to reach the top of my profession. My studies helped me to appreciate the importance of effective presentation and sound commercial judgement. I was delighted that the judges commended me on these abilities.' Georgia will now compete in the national Women in Property student award contest, and is looking forward to attending its awards ceremony at Claridges in London in September.
