Sheffield Management Lecture 2016 - Making our way: securing Britain's future prosperity
Dame Fiona Kendrick, CEO of Nestlé, will deliver this year's Sheffield Management Lecture, which will be held at Sheffield Hallam University in October 2016. Dame Fiona was last year awarded an Honorary Doctorate for her distinguished contribution to the food and drink sector and her outstanding work in promoting skills development and university-industry collaboration.
The business school's work with Nestlé began some years ago with the co-creation of the Fast Start Programme, an innovative scheme offering school-leavers the opportunity to earn a degree whilst gaining paid practical experience in commercial roles at Nestlé. This year sees the first cohort of Nestlé students graduating from SBS.
Lynda Hinxman, Assistant Dean for Employer Engagement said, ‘I am delighted to welcome Dame Fiona as our speaker at this year's Sheffield Management Lecture. She has been an excellent ambassador for the University in recent years, personally supporting the development of our Fast Start programme and also the National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering in STA. Her achievements in business are the embodiment of enterprise and the way she has championed enterprising young people is a philosophy we hold dear to the business school and the University. We look forward to hearing her insights.'
The Sheffield Management Lecture is a key annual event in the regional business calendar, providing a forum to explore contemporary management issues relevant to both the private and public sectors. This year's lecture will be held on Monday 10th October 2016 with registration from 6pm and the lecture itself starting at 6.45pm in our impressive new Charles Street Building at City Campus.
