We have close links with professional bodies like the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Our association offers you a number of benefits, including

  • accredited courses which form the basis of professional qualifications
  • industry-standard qualifications in Sage and Excel
  • free registration or reduced price membership of certain professional bodies
  • the maximum possible number of examination exemptions (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, IFA and CPA Australia)
  • relevant courses, particularly in Finance, also gain credit towards the CII qualification

Real-life learning

We are one of the few universities to have a Bloomberg Suite that delivers real-time business and market news, data and analysis, allowing you to practice trading in real-life conditions. You can use this facility for business consultancy projects, to support assessment or for research.

Our expertise

Our talented teaching staff have industry experience, a global outlook and are at the pinnacle of their practice. Many tutors have served on professional examining boards and contributed to syllabus development of professional qualifications. Our research interests include corporate governance and ethics, forensic accounting and accounting education.

Our industry partners

You’ll undertake a valuable student consultancy project and in some cases, a placement, with one of our industry partners. We work with leading organisations like Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, the Metropolitan Police, Hilton, Morrisons and Nestlé. You’ll also study an employability module at each level of your course that’s supported by dedicated staff. It’s their job to help build your confidence and become work-ready.
