Academic Writing Now: Policy, Pedagogy and Practice

Sunday 11 June 2017

Academics from Sheffield Institute of Education have been presenting their research at the European Association of Teaching Academic Writing's (EATAW) conference at Royal Holloway (University of London).

Dr Lisa McGrath (Sheffield Hallam) and Dr Raffaella Negretti (Chalmers University of Technology) presented their project which investigates the use of metacognitive scaffolds in the writing for research classroom.

John Wrigglesworth (Sheffield Hallam) presented his research on genre pedagogy in UK higher education. The research looks at how students can learn how to write better assessments for their university courses.

The European Association of Teaching Academic Writing's (EATAW) biennial conference is a great place to find out about contemporary thinking about writing pedagogy across Europe.

More information about EATAW is available here.
