The Facilities Directorate is divided into Commercial Services, Estates Development and Sustainability, Facilities Management and Security and Business Services and Timetabling.
The Commercial Services department is made up of five separate teams. They are
- Accommodation Services
- Print Services
- Sport and Recreation
Accommodation Services manages contracts with partnership landlords and allocates accommodation for over 5,000 students every year.
The University's in-house catering team run a variety of food outlets serving the needs of students, staff and visitors. They also cater for conferences, parties and other events for anything for up to 800 guests.
The Events team plans and delivers events at the University, which is one of the largest venues in the region for conferences, meetings, seminars and other high profile events. The team also leads on graduation and open days.
The University runs its own in-house print unit for photocopying, printing stationery, digital colour copying and binding services. Print Services is available for use by external customers as well as staff and students.
The Sport and Recreation Service manages Sport Hallam and the Active Hallam fitness suites.
Estates Development and Sustainability
The Estates team looks after the long term maintenance, planning and development of all new and existing buildings and develops and maintains links with the community, ensuring the University is environmentally responsible and embraces the concept of sustainability. Sheffield Hallam is a leader in sustainability within higher education and the region.

Business Services and Timetabling
Business Services and Timetabling covers business planning, management information, staff engagement and communications and training and development. The team helps deliver the University's academic strategy by planning and managing the use of space.
