We are a national award winning directorate, playing a significant part in ensuring Sheffield Hallam's financial sustainability. Using our knowledge of the business, we work in partnership with all areas of the University to help them make excellent business decisions, supporting with:
- Direction and target setting.
- Translating corporate and local ambitions into long term financial models and budgets.
- Optimising resource allocation.
- Planning and tracking financial performance.
We prepare key financial information including product costings and contribution analysis, budgets, forecasts, and financial statements. We monitor compliance with banking covenants. We also offer professional advice and recommendations to ensure we comply with statutory and regulatory financial requirements and achieve best value for money.
We are committed to ensuring the services we provide are efficient, effective and demonstrate value for money. The majority of our team are professionally qualified in their area of expertise and this reflects our commitment to ongoing professional development within the Directorate.

We were proud winners of a 2016 UK Employee Engagement Award, crowned Non-Profit / Charity Company of the Year. The award recognises our passion and commitment in improving staff engagement levels and bringing the whole finance team closer together.
