Christopher J Jewitt DL

Born in Sheffield, Christopher Jewitt was educated at Westbourne School in Sheffield and Uppingham School in Rutland. On leaving school he joined the family business, Sheffield-based Footprint Tools Limited, and in 1974 graduated with an honours degree in Business Studies from Sheffield Polytechnic (now Sheffield Hallam). Christopher has since occupied a variety of positions at Footprint, mainly on the sales side, and was appointed Managing Director in 1987.
Christopher is a dedicated and active member of the South Yorkshire community. In 1994 he served as Master Cutler of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for South Yorkshire in 1996. He is Chairman of Sheffield Assay Office, representing the office as a member of the British Hallmarking Council, and in September 2002 was appointed Honorary Colonel of 38th Signal Regiment (Volunteers).
He has served on, or is a member of, a variety of local organisations including the South Yorkshire Community Foundation, the Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council.
Christopher lives in the city with his wife, Penny. They have two sons, Richard and Timothy.
