Recently appointed director of business strategy and marketing at Microsoft UK Public Sector, David Burrows was previously the company's director of Education and Skills Development. During that six year tenure, he spearheaded efforts to improve ICT training for teachers, students and people in the workplace.
A former RAF pilot, he has driven the development of IT education in schools and universities, including at Sheffield Hallam University, whose Training Foundry is one of Microsoft's top academic training partners in the UK.
Recently appointed as a member of the Ministry of Defence's Education and Skills Advisory Board, David has also been involved in the development of the Microsoft Government Leaders Forum across Europe, the Information Technology, Communications and Electronics Skills Strategy Group and the CC4G (Computer Clubs for Girls). He is also a serving board member of the United Kingdom Education and Research Networking Association.
